What Is Call Diverting and How Does It Help?

Call diverting allows incoming calls to be forwarded from your phone line or mobile to Your Office & PA under specific conditions.

This means your calls can be answered when:

Your phoneline is engaged

You're unable to answer

You are away from the office

Choice not to take calls temporarily

It is a simple, reliable way to stay responsive without being tied to your phone.

Call Divert Options Available

Once call forwarding is enabled on your line, you can choose how calls are routed.

If your line is busy, calls divert to us instead of callers hearing an engaged tone.

If a call is not answered within a set time, usually around 15 seconds, it diverts to us automatically.

All incoming calls are diverted directly to us without ringing your line. This option is recommended if your office is unmanned.

If your office is staffed, we usually recommend using both divert on engaged and divert on unanswered to ensure no calls are missed.

Setting Up Call Diverting on Your Phone Lines

To use our Call Handling Service, call diverting must be active on your phone line or mobile.

If you have not used call forwarding before, you may need to contact your service provider to activate this facility. It usually takes up to 24 hours to go live and typically costs around £5 per quarter, depending on your provider.

If this option is used alone, callers may hear a BT announcement. This can be removed by contacting BT.
